Help for Today…Hope for Tomorrow

The recently released “Help for Today…Hope for Tomorrow®” compilation CD is raising money and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. – with over 200,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, this disease touches most of our lives whether through our own diagnosis or that of someone we love, as is the case of Christian Country singer/songwriter, John Penney.

John is a man who has had his share of ups and downs throughout his life and career, all of which he has faced with a strong faith and a humble heart.  In 2010, his wife, Carlene was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Like a spiritual warrior, John led his family straight into battle never doubting that Carlene would win her fight and as of 2011, she is cancer-free!  John smiles, “This is the awesome power of our Saviour at work and to God be the glory!”

John Penney’s musical journey runs through country and rock ‘n roll, but his writing and recording in recent years has taken a new twist.  John comments, “I have a sense of purpose now.  I want to spread what God is doing in my life and I am able to play music to do it.  That’s exciting!”  His latest album, The Devil Took Him, solidifies John’s dedication to spreading the Word.

So it’s only natural that while in the midst of this struggle, John would reach out to help others. While talking with his good friend, Eddie Gordon about finding a way to support the fight against breast cancer, they realized the best way to help was through what they knew best – music.  So along with Perry Edge of Double E Promotions, they organized the “Help for Today…Hope for Tomorrow®” compilation disc with 75% of the proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.  Christian Country artists were eager to donate their talents making this disc shine with songs by John Penney, Marty Raybon, Buddy Jewell, Cindy Hughlett, Gerald Smith, Brett Hill, Eddie Gordon, Debbie Bennett, Chuck Day, Barry McGee, Johnny Lee Cook and T. Graham Brown.  To purchase “Help for Today…Hope for Tomorrow®” contact John Penney at http://www.johnpenneymusic.com.

This fight is personal now and John Penney is a man who takes a stand -- and he, his wife, daughters and granddaughter are standing strong!

“Help for Today…Hope for Tomorrow®” is dedicated to Carlene Penney and all Breast Cancer Survivors!
